What is MSK?
MSK stands for Musculoskeletal, this includes your muscles, bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and other connective tissues, all the parts that help your body to move.
Common Causes of Musculoskeletal Issues
Musculoskeletal injuries can occur due to various causes, including sudden trauma, overuse, repetitive movements, poor biomechanics, or age-related degeneration.
How I Can Help
I assess and treat musculoskeletal issues across all ages and activity levels, looking at movement strength and symptoms to create a structured, exercise-based rehabilitation plan tailored to your needs and goals. I also provide advice on injury prevention and performance enhancement.
My approach is tailored and holistic, focusing on improving strength, flexibility, proprioception and functional movement patterns, while recognising the psychological and social factors that can influence recovery.
MSK Rehabilitation may also include hands-on therapy techniques, such as soft tissue work, joint mobilisation, therapeutic taping, or dry cupping, depending on what suits your recovery best.
Your Personalised Recovery Plan
Together, we’ll create a customised rehabilitation plan to support your recovery, build your confidence and help you move more freely.
Please note the assessment is not a diagnosis; it ensures we can provide the safest and most effective approach to help support your recovery.
For post-surgical rehabilitation, I work alongside medical professionals as part of a multidisciplinary approach.
Wear something comfortable and easy to move in.
A few tips:
- Leggings, shorts, vest top or loose T-shirts work well.
- You may be asked to remove a layer depending on the treatment area (e.g., top for back/shoulder work).
- Undergarments will remain on, and non-treated areas will remain covered with towels to ensure your comfort and modesty.
Not sure? Just ask when booking — I’m happy to advise.
This depends on the issue, your goals and how your body responds.
Some people feel relief after one session, while others benefit from a series of treatments. After your initial consultation, I’ll outline a tailored plan and check in regularly on your progress.
Consistency is key — sticking to your rehab plan and doing your structured exercises at home can make a big difference.
Recovery time varies based on your condition, how long it’s been present, and your consistency with treatment.
Acute injuries may settle within weeks, while more persistent issues can take longer. I’ll guide you with a personalised plan at a pace that works for you.
Not at all. Sports Massage benefits anyone experiencing muscle tension, stiffness or discomfort.
It’s great for people with active lifestyles, but also for office workers, busy parents, or those managing strain from daily life. It helps with posture, recovery and overall mobility.
You might feel a little sore or achy for 24–48 hours after deep tissue work or exercise-based rehab. This is completely normal. It’s also a good idea to drink water after your session to support hydration.
If anything doesn’t feel right, just let me know. Your feedback helps tailor future sessions.
